This is a souvenir package of the first eight original pieces of music to emerge from the Cork City Gamelan Project: Using the whole City of Cork, Ireland as a musical instrument.

I have a fascination with the musical quality of all sounds. Any object that can make a sound can be used as a musical instrument. For the Cork City Gamelan Project, I beat and tap objects and structures around the City, record the sounds, process them using a Computer and audio editing software, often extracting and enlarging barely audible details to create new original timbres. I then use these sounds as "virtual instruments" to compose music - on their own, as well as in combination with other instruments... or in combination with other sounds which were not made by musical instruments.
